The Beginning…

Posted by Nic Billington under Uncategorized

Things have been going particularly well for me lately, despite battling with influenza for the past week. I’m feeling good at the moment though!

I was stunned last week when Britney Spears’ official website featured one of my videos. My Gimme More cover was selected as one of five best covers chosen by Team Britney. I thought that was cool and it totally made my day, if not week.

The track that I recently completed in the studio was for the ‘Trevor Williams Vol. 2’ compilation CD, due for release in November/December. The song that I did was a cover of Richard Marx’s Hazard. I am beyond excited as this is my very first professional recording, and you’ll be able to purchase a copy online as well as in music stores across Southern Africa. I actually produced the track about 2 years ago and was just waiting for the right time to record it.

And finally, you may have noticed that I released my first video diary titled ‘Genesis’. I wanted to give you an in-depth look into all the hard work that goes into establishing a career for yourself in the entertainment industry. I look forward to sharing much more with you in future episodes.

This is one exciting journey that you don’t want to miss.

Buzzing with Excitement

Posted by Nic Billington under Uncategorized

This week saw many ups and downs for me. It was a week filled with high tension, excitement, nervousness, fear, frustration, knowledge and accomplishment.

Without giving away too much information, I finally got to experience what it’s like to work in a professional recording studio. Although a little daunting at first, it quickly became a very enjoyable experience for me. I only had one week to complete this particular project from start to finish, and although I did hit a few bumps along the road, it all came together in the end. Having a great singer/producer on my side didn’t hurt either.

I learned to be patient and to trust the people that I work with. We finally finished the track at 5.am this morning and I couldn’t even sleep because I was still buzzing with excitement. More details to follow shortly so stay tuned.
