I had such an incredible evening the other night. I headed down to a near club to see Stealing Love Jones live. I was blown away with their immense talent and charisma. They put on an awesome show and I even managed to have a nice chat with the lead singer, Esjay, after their performance. She is very sweet and down to earth. It’s great to see local acts making a big difference on the music scene. What’s important is that they still manage to remain humble at the end of the day.
I went into the recording studio again on Monday to finish up a track. Everything went really well this time around. I can’t wait to hear the finished product.
I haven’t done any covers for a while because I’ve been getting mixed responses about it. Some people want me to continue doing covers and others only want originals from now on. I am working on some original music but the process is drawn out because I want to do everything professionally, and it’s really expensive. Whereas my covers are all done at home at literally no cost.
I’m planning on releasing some singles this year so I see no harm in doing a few covers before then. I’m open to requests and suggestions.
My goal this year is to work extra hard. 2009 is looking very promising…
I spent this afternoon in the studio working on a new track. It was nice to be back in the booth after such a long break but my experience wasn’t that great.
I was very frustrated and disappointed with myself to be honest. I didn’t hit all the right notes and my voice was tired from singing the night before.
Nevertheless, I managed to complete a few verses and will head back into the studio next Monday. At least it will give me some more time to prepare.
The greatest thing happened to me last weekend. I walked into one of South Africa’s leading music stores and saw the Trevor Williams Vol 2 compilation CD on the shelf, and what an amazing feeling it was. The album features my latest track called Hazard and it has even taken the number 1 spot in some music stores. This has been a huge dream come true for me and it just proves that hard work does eventually pay off.
